I feel like I not only have built an entire house with my peers, but built and strengthened friendships. Building houses mattered because it gave shelter to those that did not have it. I have a completely different view of my life. I feel like this trip will last a lifetime and I know it meant a lot to the families as well.

Now I see that I take many things for granted. The family needed that house to protect themselves from the cold and the wind. This house could save this family. I also see how much family and neighbors can mean to a person. I will go home and try to become closer to my family because I have taken these things for granted, especially my family.
